Oriented Strand Board

Oriented strand board (OSB), is a strong, versatile engineered wood panel made from rectangular wood strands layered in cross-oriented directions, bonded with adhesives, and hot-pressed, offering superior strength, stability, and moisture resistance.

OSB is widely used, mainly in building construction, furniture manufacturing, interior decoration, and packaging materials.

Our OSB supports 2440*1220*(8-18)mm, thickness can be customed, WBP glue alternative.

Manufacturing Process

01

Log Cutting & Debarking

Pine logs are cut to suitable lengths and debarked.

02

Flaking into Thin Strands

The debarked logs are then flaked into thin strands with length of 70–120 mm, width of 15–25 mm and thickness of 0.6–0.8 mm.

03

Storage, Drying & Moisture Control

Strands are conveyed to the storage bin, and dried before using. Once dried, the moisture of the pine strands is controlled to around 2%.

04

Screening & Resin Blending

The dried strands are then screened and classified to remove impurities, ensuring that the raw material for the OSB contains no stones, plastics, splinters. After screening, the strands are sent to the resin-blending section, where adhesive is evenly sprayed onto them then they are conveyed to the forming line.

05

Oriented Mat Forming

In the oriented forming section, the surface strands are oriented parallel to the length of the mat, while the core strands are oriented perpendicular to the length of the mat. This cross-oriented structure helps increase the internal bond strength and stability of the OSB.

06

Manual Surface Inspection

The formed mat is then sent to the manual inspection area, where discolored, moldy strands and other visible contaminants are removed to make the surface flatter and cleaner.

07

Pre-Pressing, Hot Pressing & Trimming

After inspection, the mat is pre-pressed and cut to size, and the whole panel is formed and fed into the hot press machine for high-temperature, high-pressure pressing. After hot pressing, the board is cooled and trimmed to produce a finished OSB panel.

08

Final Quality Inspection

The trimmed panels are then inspected by dedicated quality inspectors, who check panel dimensions, thickness, flatness.
